Sarah Lassberg's Mission is to Help Other's Navigate Through Tough Times

Woman of the Week Sarah Lassberg's Mission is to Help Other's Navigate Through Tough Times

Sarah Lassberg is a dynamic woman that every woman needs by her side; she's a professional that helps with long-term planning and risk mitigation, and she's an educated advocate that puts the community first, not to mention her action-oriented stance on keeping communities safe and her guidance for helping families process through grief. She's not afraid to roll up her sleeves and plunge into problems that most would skip over. Sarah embraces all her hats (and she has a very unique set!) like being an amazing mom, a supportive wife, a trusted advisor, a responsive-caring professional, an ambassador for causes she believes in, a servant-leader, a trailblazer, a founder & non-profit leader, a Board Member at WOW Dems, a resource connector, a community volunteer, an advocate and proud graduate of Leadership Plano Class 37 (just to name a few)....

As a Woman of The Week, Sarah had a chance to talk with DPW Ambassador, Michele Mac Arthur about her journey as a professional and how her personal experience with grief has guided her to help others that were processing the pain. Take a listen to the inspiring journey and climb of Sarah on the #WomanOfTheWeek podcast (link below).

As a trailblazer, Sarah was the founder of Collin County Moms Demand Action and the Local Group Leader for two years. Those two years included a lot of interaction with elected officials from city to state to national. As 2020 approached, she knew the census and the elections all the way down the ballot were too important to leave to a nonpartisan approach. To that end, she shifted from partnering to becoming more personally involved with Liberal Women's Action Network and Women Organizing Women Democrats. In 2019, she founded the 501(c)3 nonprofit Elf Army of Light, a non-religious community for bereaved families experiencing pregnancy loss and infant death.

She is also an ambassador for the Coalition for Grieving Students through the New York Life Foundation. The Coalition provides training and resources to teachers and staff at K-12 public and private schools on how to identify, interact with, and support grieving children. Prior to founding her nonprofit and starting her financial practice, Sarah held a role as a process consultant for several years where she coached and trained associates, process managers, and department managers in problem-solving, design thinking, and process improvement. She spent several years as an underwriter for a local auto finance company, and these skill sets have allowed her a greater perspective of the financial struggles facing everyday families and business owners.

Professionally, Sarah is licensed as a financial services professional allowing activists and community-involved women to avoid financial burdens by providing them with business solutions and financial plans, whether that is personal or group short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, retirement planning, tax-free investments, college planning, legacy planning, estate checklist, budget creation, and long-term care planning and insurance.

She has a financial practice partnered with New York Life and NYLIFE securities focused on helping entrepreneurs and families maximize savings and returns while minimizing risk and taxes using investment, savings, and insurance. As a business solutions specialist, she provides business and personal benefits to employers and employees.

Before coming to New York Life, Sarah Lassberg's role was a process consultant. Her focus was problem-solving and understanding the current state, future state, and how to create a roadmap to get there. She shifted her focus from corporate into creating her own business. She's an expert in discovering what your ideal future looks like, customize and organize where you are today, and take action by partnering with you every step of the way through life’s twists and turns so you can face the unexpected confidently. Life changes quickly and sometimes we’re so busy taking care of what needs to be done now, the future gets left for tomorrow leaving us overwhelmed and vulnerable. She offers safe, remote appointments and there is no cost for her consulting services. As an Agent licensed to sell insurance through New York Life Insurance Company and also licensed with various other independent unaffiliated insurance companies, her mission is to help advise her clients on the best risk mitigation solutions. Additionally, she's a Registered Representative of and offers securities products & services through NYLIFE Securities LLC, (Member FINRA/SIPC), A Licensed Insurance Agency, and a New York Life Company.

Sarah lives in Plano with her husband and their living child.
