Dr. Tamara Thomas is a dedicated wife, loving mother & mentor, motivational speaker, community leader, entrepreneur, Christian counselor, talk show host, volunteer and Chiropractor. She shares her time, talents, and resources to help improve the lives of others. With a beaming smile and eagerness to learn about others, Dr. Thomas pulls people together to help build bridges between communities.
Dr. Tamara Thomas has been in the eye of the public since age twelve when she begin writing plays and acting her way to third place at the State Fair of Texas competition. She has been teaching, listening and evaluating others problems while sitting in the middle of the street and giving advice to her older sisters and relatives, since at least the same age. This gift that she has to compassionately hear people and respond with wisdom has led her to be one of the sought out teachers and motivators of today.
Tamara has been formally serving in a teaching and leadership capacity since 1997 as a pastor, Christian counselor, and entrepreneur. She is a Certified Anger Management Professional (C.A.M.P.) and a Certified Anger Management Trainer (C.A.M.T.), with emphasis on stress management and executive coaching. She is an awesome motivational and inspirational speaker with national and international requests. Her story of how she survived being born premature and nearly a dry birth, growing up with a childhood disease that made it difficult to play outdoors with the other children, to her struggle with weight, depression, teen pregnancy, and bad relationships to become someone who is motivating others around the world, is simply amazing.
With all of her life’s struggles, Tamara has found an important element to be true. That element is that life is about making the right decisions and recognizing the triggers that cause you to make bad ones. She found that in each of life’s struggles, there was a decision that needed to be made which would determine her outcome whether good or bad. This revelation of life’s experiences has brought her to help others learn to make “Winning Choices” that will create a lifetime of success for them and those around them.
Tamara attended Brookhaven Community College, North Texas State University, University of Phoenix, and Texas Chiropractic College. She has degrees in Psychology, Human Services/Management, an Honorary Doctorate of Ministry and a Doctorate of Chiropractic. Dr. Tamara Thomas is also the Presiding Bishop of International Faith Covenant Fellowship, where she and her husband Bishop Fred Thomas are Co-founders.
She has written several gospel plays, books, Bible curriculum and poetry. Her books and booklets include: The Triumphant Christian, Who Are the Daughters of Zion, Weapons of Worship, You’re Your #1 Enemy, Wake Up! Life's Happening!, How To Be Me, Who's Your Daddy 'Nem?, and I'm On Medication.
Tamara is sure to make your next event one of the most exciting and motivating experiences that your group will ever encounter. Her style and experience comes from the issues of life and not a book or training class on how to motivate others. It is a gift that developed through her personal struggles. Get ready for the time of your life!
